Weekly Winners: Ronald McDonald Goes Retro

Going Retro today. I've just finished the first series of prints for the super photo class I'm enrolled in this term. Quite a few old-school Mickey D's are part of my college landscape. This one made its debut in 1948.

My assignment was to shoot a roll of b&w film with a plastic Holga camera. The Holga is a cheap toy camera made in China. That's right, folks. No digital, no auto-focus, no SLR, no high-speed anything. Lots of light leaking through the seems in this baby!

After the "photo shoot," I went back to the darkroom and processed my film. Had no idea what would come of it, but I'm pretty fond of my effort. My photo professor even called my work "beautiful"!

Weekly Winners are brought to you each week by Lotus, at Sarcastic Mom.

Sounds like your professor is taking your guys back to the photo basics. Great job with Micky D. ! The fotos have an old-fashioned boardwalk fun house quality to them. I love your black and white pix. I miss my darkroom days in college.
