I feel an ache in my heart every time I see this memorial -- yes, terrible and beautiful at the same time. My husband was in Vietnam, fortunately, he came home in one piece, but a part of him could never forget. Sad but beautiful reflection.
I used to work in DC, not too far from the memorial. Everytime I went there I was drawn to the names of those I knew. So sad. I also felt lucky to have survived my time in VN. Lucky and guilty...
